Tanya Fenkell is a Toronto-based artist and writer working primarily in watercolour.
She holds a BA in English Literature from McGill University, an MA in English Literature and an MIS from the University of Toronto.
In her artwork, Tanya is interested in solitude and beauty, and also how women's identities and bodies interact with modes of beauty and sexuality. She uses watercolour to convey the deep, calming feelings evoked by water, rocks, sky and trees, hoping to show the mixture of comfort, loneliness and rapture we feel when we are alone with nature.
