Tanya Fenkell is a Toronto-based artist working primarily in watercolour.
Art was central in Tanya's life from the beginning, even as she pursued other interests. She holds a BA in English Literature from McGill University, an MA (in English) and an MIS from the University of Toronto. Currently, she spends most of her time wrangling three sons, prior to which she worked as a Photo Librarian at The Globe and Mail and later was co-owner/designer for Cloud Cashmere, a line of ethically-made knits for women and children. She has practiced and studied various fibre arts and crafts, such as knitting, embroidery and bookbinding. In her artwork, Tanya is interested in solitude and beauty, and also how women's identities and bodies interact with modes of beauty and sexuality.
